Guided Walking History Tour

of Traverse City

Our 6th season

begins on Memorial Day
May 30th

No Reservations Needed
Meet us at the Perry Hannah Plaza
6th and Union

Our walking tour is a 2 & 1/2 hour, 2 mile stroll through the historic neighborhoods and waterfront of Traverse City.

We begin and end each tour at the Perry Hannah Plaza - at the NW corner of Sixth & Union Streets.

THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR OUR TOURS.  Our tour guides rely on your generosity at the conclusion of the tour.  Typical gratuities are $15 per person, but
are entirely up to the individual.

Of course we like nice days for our tours, but Mother Nature still has the final say.  A light rain or drizzle won't stop us,
but any dangerous weather (lightning, heavy rain, high winds, etc.) will mean a cancellation of our tour.

If moderate to heavy rain is imminent, our tour is canceled.

"Very informative and enlightening tour. Steve did a great job of conveying our local history. Friendly, knowledgeable and nice way to spend the afternoon. Thanks again."   Melani P., Traverse City

Time & Distance
The tour is about 2 &1/2 hours of walking over a two mile route, with a rest stop at the Traverse City Visitors Center.  The walk includes stairs, and as such, it may not be suited for those with walking or stamina issues.  However, with some advance notification, accommodations can be made.

We have experienced that our tour is not appealing to children under 15.
Please, no strollers.  Please avoid cellphone use during the tour.

The Guided Walking History Tour is a free walking tour not affiliated with any non-profit, for profit, or municipal organization.
